While some companies offer telomeres tests which mean telomere length analyses, Life Length is the only company in the world able to offer a highly scalable technology to measure percentage of short telomeres in individual cells, which is the relevant indicator of telomere dysfunction and cellular aging. Clinical analysis provided by Life Length helps laboratories, medical companies and public institutions to determine and compare the degree of aging of individuals, cells, and selected human populations and to adopt new valuable biomarkers in several fields such as aging and age-related diseases, infertility or oncology.
TAT Telomere Length Test Determines
- Mean and Median Telomere Length
- Lowest 20th percentile Telomere Length
- % short telomeres
- % of cells with short telomeres
- Full Telomere Length histogram distribution
- Absolute measurements in base pairs
How does it work?
You will receive a complete kit with the telomeres test and instructions. An anonymous online questionnaire needs to be filled out in order to receive a more personalised result report. Your doctor or phlebotomist may take a blood draw. Blood may be drawn from Monday to Wednesday (no weekends or holidays). Please consult the Lab Calendar from Life Length for dates on which the lab is closed for holidays.
Please inform Life Length upfront to arrange for sample pick-up at least one day prior to the blood draw. A courier will pick up the blood sample that needs to arrive to life Length’s lab in Spain within 48 hours after the blood draw. After about 4 to 6 weeks, the telomeres test will be discussed with a detailed report with the Chief Medical Officer of Life Length during a phone call or skype consultation.
